Rika is a Japanese actress, singer, and model that made her debut in January 2003. After being scouted in August 2002, she was signed to the Snow Rabbits Corporation talent agency as "Hama Chisaki" and began modeling for the juniors fashion magazine "melon" in early 2003. In addition to modeling, she was signed on to the live-action adaptation of the hit anime/manga "Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon" as Sailor Mercury/Mizuno Ami, the water soldier. Near the end of the year on Chisaki's birthday, she released her first non-PGSM single, "Koi suru Soldier / Kanojo wa Ijiwaru".

When one of the specials for PGSM was released on DVD in November 2004 and another in March 2005, Chisaki was credited as "Rika" rather than "Hama Chisaki". After the release of these specials, Rika took a break from the entertainment world. Her reasoning for this was never clearly given, but her agency claimed it was because of health and school. She was also not seen in "melon" for several issues, and in June 2005 when the magazine stopped publication, her career with them was certainly no more. Rika had vanished from the public eye for the most part, aside from mentions in her PGSM co-stars' blogs referencing meet-ups with her. (She and Azama Mew [Sailor Jupiter] appear to still be close from Mew's blog entries.)

On February 22nd, 2007, her official website stopped sales of official merchandise and the website closed down. Most fans thought she'd truly disappeared forever, but in June 2008 she resurfaced using a different kanji spelling of her real name, Izumi Rika. She is currently (June 27th, 2008) a finalist for the fashion magazine PINKY's Princess PINKY audition. I wish her the best and hope she wins so we can have her back in the industry!
